How to bypass the Windows XP user log on
screen
Sometimes, after updating Windows XP, the user log on screen
appears and forces you to click on your name to proceed to Windows. This
is really aggravating if you only have one user and no password on your
computer. This is how you fix it.
- Click on run and type in
regedit.
- Locate the following registry key-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- Double click the AutoAdminLogon
entry and type 1 in the
Value Data box, then click OK
- If there is no AutoAdminLogon
entry:
- click Edit,
New, and then String
Value
- Type AutoAdminLogon and the
value name and then press ENTER.
- Double click the AutoAdminLogon
entry and type 1 in the
Value Data box, then click OK
- Quit Regedit
- Restart your computer
