What's New

We're the area's
favorite computer store, according to the Leader Herald's 2006
Reader's Choice Awards. The Fulton Computer Co. has won each year the
contest has been held. A big thank you to all of our customers for
supporting us. It is truly appreciated.
It's true. Gibson Data Systems, Inc. has
purchased the Adirondack Book Nook. Our too-large showroom has
been partitioned off and both the Fulton Computer Co. and the Fulton Book Co.
are in residence here. The best news is that Adirondack Book Nook owner
Pamela Flint now works with us!
We're number for 2005 (up from
number 13 last year) according to the Capital
District Business Review, a weekly business newspaper. Every week, the CDBR
publishes a list of the largest firms in a certain category, and the first week in
February is for computer dealers. The Fulton Computer Co. started retailing
computers in October of 1994, and by the 1997 issue we were listed. All other
computer dealers on the list are in Albany,
Schenectady, Menands, and Latham.

from our own customers, but from folks that bought elsewhere and can't get any support.
We've answered so many of the same questions over and over that we've decided to
publish some of the more "frequently asked questions" on a computer tips page.
Our Mission Statement:
To provide our home and business customers with quality computer equipment
supported by local service comparable to the best in our industry. We
believe that by providing good service and dealing with our customers in an honest and
straightforward manner, even if it means losing a sale in the short term, our business
will be successful in the long term.
Company Profile
Our business began in 1989 as Gibson Associates, providing consulting and main frame
computer programming services, with a staff of one... Dave Gibson. The joke with my
customers was that I had no associates, but that someday I might, and I wouldn't need a
new name. Business grew over the next few years, and I hired Howard and Kathy, two
very experienced computer programmers. Business continued to grow, and now included
some municipal systems consulting on a national level, while our local programming
business declined as main frame computer systems became outdated and PC based software
applications got better. We needed to redefine our business, and Howard, Kathy, and
I needed to either move out of this area or do something else. Since the three of us
live here and like it here, we decided to stay, and in October of 1994 shifted focus to
the retail computer market. Our first month's sales were $254. :-(
We're
now a large retail-based computer center, offering customers quality custom built
computers at a price competitive with mail order and big box chain stores but with the
advantage of local service. Our store in downtown Gloversville has over 2,500 square
feet of sales space, plus a fully equipped service department, and a new computer
"factory". We are truly a large computer store, ranked number 13 by
the Capital District Business Review based on 2004 sales. We are the only computer
store outside of the immediate Capital District to make this list.
While we're very price competitive with mail order and retail chain stores, our
customers purchase here because of our hard-earned reputation for prompt, quality service,
and honesty. We have established a high level of trust with our customers, and pride
ourselves on that fact.
